  • 12/16/18:
Hailey is a wonderful mature girl with manners, love and willingness to please. She will melt your heart. After she knows you she will always come when called and show you where any critters have passed by.  She has had surgery for a few lumps and to be spayed since she has gotten here which has slowed her down a bit(nothing like a cut up belly to put you into low gear). But she still loves to go outside(doggie doors are her best friend) and carry her Duck AND Santa around in her mouth showing off her hunting ability and Christmas spirit. Hailey loves kids, adults and other dogs. If some dog  attacks she will respond but I haven't seen her want to ruin anyone's day. If you want to make 2019 the best for this fantastic gal and your family she will be ready to go soon. Merry Christmas.
Hi my name is Hailey I am an 11 year old GSP. I weigh about 60 pounds and my foster dad thinks I am young at heart. I came to Wisconsin German Shorthair Rescue about two weeks ago. I am good with dogs with the proper introductions my foster parents have 2 grandsons and I really like to hang out with them. I really like to go on walks we have a great place to walk we see squirrels, bunnies, deer and my favorite ducks. My foster dad is always telling me that I can go in the water, but I relay like swimming so he lets me once in a while. My favorite thing we do is go out to the big field where I can look for things to flush. I have decided I like to be scratched it is probably my favorite thing in the whole world. I know I sometimes annoy my foster dad when I keep asking for scratches but he is the one who taught me it was so enjoyable. Another thing I am learning is that it is kind of fun to play with toys.

Hailey came to our home about 3 weeks ago I think she was primarily an outside dog. She has made the transition to an indoor dog very well. We live in a 2 bedroom townhome and she is doing great. We take her on walks 3 to 4 times a day and she will also let us know when she needs to go out to do her business. When she came to us we were told she was nervous but she has never shown any signs of it. She has been very good with our grandkids whenever our five year old is giving her attention she sits down so he can love her. She has reacted well to other dogs as well. If you are looking for a dog to be a companion and hunting in shorter durations she is your dream dog. My wife and I have really enjoyed having her in our home. In closing Hailey has become a younger happier dog everyday if that makes any sense.

    Update from Hailey's Foster:
Well she has decided to be lap dog. We had a pretty busy weekend we went to a cross country meet and a fall festival on Saturday and on Sunday we went out and spent a couple of hours in the field pretending to hunt. She may be 11 but she acts much younger.

Hailey made her way to rescue this week. She is a sweet 11 yr old that needs lots of exercise as she has a high prey drive. She is crate trained and house trained. She loves to go for rides.
