Hi everyone. Willie here!!!

It’s been a while since the first posting on the WGSPR web site.
My foster parents have been working very hard with me to improve my basic obedience skills. They say I’m doing much better but still need more work on recall.  Especially when we are playing in the yard or walking thru the woods.
Also, they have found out that I have issues with “separation anxiety “. I don’t like it when my foster parents put me in my crate and leave for work. This has been the focus of my training so that I will be on the mend when I get to go to my forever home. We are also going to see a trainer soon so my foster parents can learn how to best help me.
Other than that I am doing well. My foster parents say that I am the most gentle and loving soul they have ever met. I’m not aggressive in any way and I love being around people and other dogs. My foster parents love  my personality and my antics and they are enjoying seeing my playful side. It makes them laugh.
In the new pictures we are the lake for the weekend. It is a new and great adventure that I have really enjoyed. If you’ll notice I’m on the ice. My foster parents are so proud that they taught me how to walk on water. Haha. My foster parents think I am so handsome they take a lot picture and I have gotten good at posing.
Well that’s it for now. I will continue to work hard at being the best dog I can be so when I go to my forever home we can live happily forever after.

My name is Willie and I can't wait to find my " furever" home
I arrived at my foster home on 10/14/17 and have spent the last several days settling in. My foster parents say I'm an amazing dog and will make a great addition to a lucky family. They think I'm exceptionally handsome and they love my temperament. I make them laugh with the funny expressions I make when they talk to me.
My foster parents are making sure I get plenty of exercise and play time outside since I am an athlete and enjoy being active. I love to run in our yard with my two foster German short-haired sisters and to go for walks in the woods with my foster parents. There are so many things to smell!!!
My foster parents can tell that I have had obedience training and I know "come, sit and stay" but I need to brush up on following commands 100% of the time. I'm a little stubborn on recall but I'm already showing improvement. My foster parents think I'm very smart and with a little work will be good at doing what I'm asked to do.
I am house trained but not crate trained. My foster parents think it is important for me to be crate trained so we are working on that task. I am very good at going into the crate at bedtime and sleeping all night without a problem. I don't really like being in the crate during the day and would rather be loose in the house.
I am good with kids, other dogs and enjoy being around people. I'm being trained not to go on furniture and will happily curl up on my bed next to you while you are watching TV.
Bye for now. More to come while my foster parents are working with me to be the best dog I can be!!!!!!
