Hey! I just wanted to send in an update on the beautiful Ms Scrappy! After having her a little over a month Scrappy has finally started to come out of her shell a bit and is showing us more of her real personality. She is a sweet gentle soul. She loves people of all ages. She wants nothing more than to be pet and scratched behind the ears. She is also very easy going and well behaved. When she wants attention she will walk up to you and sit down. If you ignore her she will try and climb into your lap to demand her attention. She is very food motivated as well and will clean up any table scraps she can find. I think this is why the two young kids in the family are her favorite since they are always dropping food on the floor. She still has weight too loose but she has lost some much needed weight since we got her. She has no problem getting up and down and jumping up on the couch for her nap. She can also jump up into our car with no problem which is good because Scrappy loves car rides!! She also enjoys going for walks. She is an excellent walker and she never pulls on her leash. She enjoys nice slow walks where she can sniff everything! She occasionally gets excited and then wants to trot until she finds the next spot she wants to stop and sniff. We also found out this past weekend that she does enjoy chewing on bones too. We haven't seen her play with any toys yet though. Scrappy also gets along great with all dogs. She doesn't have much interest in playing with them but enjoys having them around. She has never shown any sign of food aggression either so we can feed all three dogs together. Scrappy would be a great addition to any family!!

Scrappy is a total sweetheart. She is very shy at first and it takes her a while to warm up to you and feel comfortable. Once she warms up she loves to cuddle up next to you and lavish you with kisses. She also gets along great with her two foster GSP brothers. She is even patient with the young crazy one who is constantly running around and wanting to play. Scrappy hasn't shown much interest in wanting to play and hasn't shown any interest in her toys or bones yet either.

Scrappy also adores the two kids in the house. She enjoys following them around, laying / sleeping with them, and again giving them kisses. Scrappy is very calm and mellow in the house. She is not the fastest walker but she does seem to enjoy going for walks and being outside in general. She would be a great addition to any family and she still had a ton of love left to give!

Scrap Iron Girl came into rescue with her siblings Lil Red and Blue over the weekend.  The 3 Pointer Siblings found their way into rescue through Illinois Shorthair Rescue.  They are overflowing with GSPs in need and WGSPR stepped in to assist.   The Pointer Siblings lost their human dad at the end of November and their human mom was not able to give them the care they need and reached out to rescue for help and that is when WGSPR stepped in.

Scrap Iron is great with kids and learning to take short walks to take off some of the much needed weight.    She is getting along great with the resident GSPs as well.     Scrap Iron Girl does have a Grade 2 heart murmur that we will continue to monitor.  She also has some mammory tumors that we will continue to monitor and seek a 2nd opinion with our vet.
